marathon training week fifteen

We both ran the whole sixteen miles! Woohoo! SO that means in the race, we'd only have 10 miles left to go afterwards...

Landon did awesome, as usual. He really has his pace down and he ran all sixteen miles in under two and a half hours, around a nine minute pace. I am so proud of him.

I finished right around three hours--which was cool because on our thirteen mile run it took me about three hours to run the thirteen miles, so I was able to keep my pace better this time.

The first 12 miles or so I was close to my pace, but the last three or four I was fading. Landon finished when I had a little under 3 miles to go, so he sat there and cheered me on and actually ran my last 2 laps with me, which was so sweet.

All in all, it was a good run. I wasn't dizzy or light-headed or feeling dehydrated like last time, thank goodness. There is such a difference between feeling like that and just feeling tired at the end, like I was this week. My pace and time wasn't perfect, but I was on pace to finish in under 5 hours, and I really think running with a pace group at the marathon will help me keep pace.

And, the best part is that the only 2 longer runs we have left are 18 miles and 20 miles before our taper weeks! Yay! :)
