Long Live

If you know me, it's no secret that I'm a Taylor Swift fan.  I can't help it.  I just really like her music.  And recently, my sweet husband bought me her newest CD and I'm kinda obsessed with it.

One song in particular, the last one on the CD, really resonates me with me.  It's called Long Live.  I'm not really sure what it's about for her, or what she's really singing about, but every time I hear it, it makes so many memories from the past months flash through my head.  Moments that I don't want to forget.

The last stanza says this.

And I was screaming long live
All the magic we made
And bring on all the pretenders,
I'm not afraid
Singing long live
all the mountains we moved
I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you
And long long live
the look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will remember

And it's not like we've done anything spectacular this year, but for us, it's been a big year.  We've done things we've been putting off and set goals that seemed crazy and took some big steps together.  And for us, it's been a big year, full of times that make me want to scream long live that moment.

Long live...
the look on Landon's face as he crossed the finish line for his Ironman

Long live...
hearing my baby brother tell me he was planning to propose to his girlfriend (and the look on her face as she showed us the ring)

Long live...
the look on Landon's face when the pregnancy test said PREGNANT

Long live...
seeing Mere for the last time, and seeing her smile as Pop danced for her, as he'd done so many other times over the years

Long live...
the moment in Austin that I realized I could do an open water swim without panicking

Long live...
our family's reactions when they realized that the bun in the oven actually meant

Long live...
hearing about Mercy Project and feeling God say that that's something we could be a part of

Long live...
how unreal it felt to actually be sitting at a little cafe, eating a sandwich, in Paris

Long live...
feeling Landon pick me up and carry me across the doorway of our very own house

Long live...
Landon's baby sister's smile as she walked down the aisle, in the arm of her father, towards her future husband (and his eyes never leaving hers as she walked towards him)

Long live...
enjoying my Ironman 70.3, both during the race and as I crossed the finish line

Long live...
hearing our baby's heartbeat for the first time

Thank you babe, for the courage you give me and the fun we have together.  Thank you for the magic and the moved mountains and a wonderful, rich, full year.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2011.

Walt Disney World

One family.
Five days.
Four parks.
Too many characters to count.
I'll let the pictures do the talking. :)

Merry Christmas to the dogs :)

One thing I never knew about Landon before we got married was how handy he was--and I love it!  He's always making something or building something.

And his newest project was a doggie window for our dogs, so they can go in and out of the backyard as they please. He built a double paned window with a doggie door in the middle and it came out awesome!  Nice job babe! :)

I think they're happy to have their freedom back!
