Run For Their Lives

The last weekend in October, Landon and I joined 13 other runners to run from Lake Hubbard in DFW to Lake Conroe in the Houston area. It was definitely an experience!  But, it was fun. :)  And, all together we raised over $5,000, which is cool because it costs around $1000 to rescue a child from slavery in Ghana and give them a home and an education and a new chance at life.  Hearing that right after both teams crossed the finish line made the running in the cold weather in the middle of the night with 2-3 hours of sleep, which was not so fun at times, ha--SO worth it.  If all it takes for 5 kids to be rescued and given a new life, we'd gladly run some and be uncomfortable for a few hours, because that seems like nothing in comparison to what they go through as children enslaved as fisherman.

Thank you again to those of you that donated.  You have changed the lives of 5 kids in Africa for good.
