Our day at sea was really busy and really relaxing all at the same time, if that's even possible! Landon and I started the day off pretty early with a light room service breakfast--you just leave a little slip on your door when you go to sleep and then they bring you what you asked for at the time you asked for it--too cool!! Then, we headed over to the gym and ran about 5 miles on the treadmill with an awesome view of the front of the ship and the ocean--I couldn't look at the ocean too much because it made me feel all off balance as I was running and I didn't want to fall off the treadmill!
After we showered, we headed down to the main dining room for our second breakfast with Blake and Morgan (we earned it, right? :))--I love breakfast food but never really cook it much at home, so it was a treat for me!
And from there we spent the rest of the day just hanging out on the ship-- that morning Landon did his massage/sleep session that he won and then took a salsa class with Blake and Morgan that was a blast and tried our hand at the Black Jack tournament, which was fun even though neither of us won. Then, after some lunch Blake and Morgan did a couples massage and I watched Landon dominate in a volleyball tournament (his team won it all!)and then we climbed up to the top deck and laid out for a while. It was warm but nice and breezy because of where we were. Then, around 3pm I headed over to the spa for an awesome fire and ice manicure and pedicure that Landon was so sweet to surprise me with. I loved it! We ended the day with a little room service snack that Landon had waiting for us when I got back from the spa, including some escargot since we'd been wanting to try it (is he the greatest, or what?) and the four of us headed down to hang out in the hot tub for a little while before we had to get ready for dinner. That night we had reservations at the nice restaurant on the ship, a seafood/Italian place, where I had what I think I would call some of the best food I ate on the whole trip. It was that good. And it all looked so pretty on the plates! :) All in all, it was a nice way to end our first day of the cruise.
We were glad for a fun day on the ship, but went to bed that night also ready to see some of Europe! Naples (and Pompei and Mount Vesuvius), here we come!
