It's Alive!

Over the years we've been married, Landon has bought me countless numbers of flowers. In the beginning they'd be the cut flowers in a vase but over the last couple of years they've become potted flowers, usually some new kind I haven't seen before. And I love it, because I always have grand plans to fill my house and yard with these flowers. And they're always GORGEOUS when I get them. But inevitably, within a couple of days, they're dead.
Like these. These were gorgeous. I can't remember for the life of me what they were called, but they might have been the prettiest flower I've ever gotten.

Dead.

And these, which I got for Valentine's day 2 years ago. Tulips. My Favorite.

Dead too.

The two tulip plants I got along with these (hearty) little pink ones that managed to survive the apparent torture that does on in the Speights household? Well, they weren't so lucky. They bit the dust a couple of months ago too. It was sad.

I could go on and on with more pictures of more flowers I've killed.

But, I'm turining over a new leaf! These flowers, the ones I got for Valentine's day over 2 months ago, they're still alive! And growing and blooming and everything! It's like a whole new world is opening up to me--I can finally keep a house plant alive! I'll take the small victories. :)

Now that I've posted this though, I'm praying that I haven't spoken too soon and get home tonight to find it all withered or dead! :)

Happy Wednesday!
