What seems like an eternity ago, back in December, Landon and I toured the birthing center of the hospital that we're going to deliver in, to see if it was a good fit. While we were there, another couple showed up and took the tour with us. We were about 15 weeks or so and they were 34 weeks. It worked out really well for us because they knew all the questions to ask--and we got the benefit of hearing the answers. But, what I remember is that at one point in the tour the nurse was talking about what they do if babies are born prematurely and have to be taken somewhere else etc-and she told the other girl that that probably wouldn't be an issue because she was 34 weeks and generally babies born at 34 weeks and beyond are just fine, even if they have to spend a few days in the NICU. And I remember I was so jealous of her right then, because we were still in the stage where I was worried about the baby.
And now, we're where she was. 34 weeks. In the blink of an eye, it sometimes seems. From what I read, Aedan is a little under 5 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe), about 18 inches or so and looks and acts pretty much like a newborn. He has sleep patterns which might hold true after he's born, hears us and probably knows our voices, has long, blinks, can see better with light, has long, little fingernails that he can scratch himself with already--and his lungs and central nervous system are pretty much fully developed. So, while I'm not at all wanting him to make an appearance this early, it's good to know that at this point, if he did, that he would probably be ok.
At our last doctor's appointment he was looking good and I'm still feeling good (though he is definitely starting to feel huge in my stomach), so we're feeling blessed. 6 more weeks to go! :)

You look beautiful! Would love to see you before little man arrives!! :)
