Our "dare" on Sunday night was to intentionally not do something you had planned on doing and spend that time with your spouse. Well, we decided not to run and not to do work for work the next day (so sad, I know) and instead went out to dinner at Cedar Creek, a place I'd been wanting to try by our house. Then, we were going to make Bananas Foster but couldn't find a place to buy the liquor we needed to make it flame. We ended up with a frozen pie instead, but made the Bananas Foster last night. And man, it was delicious and easy and fast--and tasted surprisingly like what we've ordered in a restaurant.
So, I thought I'd photograph it because the flames were cool and share it.
As the sugar and butter are melting together, slice the bananas bias style (I had no idea how to do this; Landon had to do it for me.)
Set the bananas aside.
At this point, the butter and sugar should be nicely melted; give it a good stir to make sure everything is mixed together.
Then, gently place the bananas into the butter and brown sugar sauce.
Oooh. Pretty.
Cook and gently stir over medium heat for about 2 minutes or until the bananas are heated through.
Then, sprinkle with cinnamon.
And, add the banana liqueur.
Gently mix the goodness together, letting the flavors coat the bananas.
In a separate skillet, head the rum until it almost simmers.
Light a long stemmed match and ignite the run, quickly pouring over bananas while oohing and aahing over the pretty flames.

Stir everything gently to coat.
Spoon the bananas and sauce into a plate.
