Happy Mother's Day

This Mother's day happened to fall on the same weekend as Matt's graduation in Abilene, so we spent the morning with my mom, lunchtime with Pam (our kid's mom and one of our favorite moms) and the evening with Landon's, and covered about 350 miles in between!

On Saturday night after dinner Landon, my brothers and I ran to United (oh, I miss United) and picked up things to make omlettes and fruit salad for my mom for breakfast. We met at Matt's house around 9am to find the boys already had the fruit and veggies all washed, the cornbread in the oven and some things cut up. I was impressed! My parents got to his house around 930am and we had such a fun time cooking breakfast, eating breakfast and giving my mom her presents-- a rose, a card and a new camera. I know she was wanting a new camera but not expecting it, so that was a lot of fun--points go to my dad for hearing her say she wanted a new one and helping us pull it off! :)

From Matt's house we went over to Pam's to catch her and her mom before we left town but she was out running the kids around and taking them to church, so we left the card and rose with her mom and one of her sons who was still at home. She has been through so much and is raising four preteens/teenagers on her own and is much deserving of our prayers and praise. Just spending time with them while we were in Abilene makes me certain that my mom was right all those times she said that being a mom is the hardest job in the world!

And from there we began the trek home, heading right into Sugarland 6 hours later to meet Landon's parents for dinner a Japaneiros, a cute little sushi restaurant. It was delicious food and good conversation and a really good end to a really good weekend. Because we had thought that we might not be able to see Landon's mom that night, we had ordered an Edible Arrangements fruit bouquet to be sent to her house and she actually got it on Mother's Day, which was nice. That place is expensive, but the bouquets are so fun! :) I forgot my camera at the restuarant, but managed to get one picure of Landon with his momma when we went back to their house for a little while to pick up our puppy, since they were dog-sitting for us that weekend.
We are so blessed with wonderful mothers and so blessed to live near to them. The older I get and the closer we get to having babies of our own, the more blessed I feel to be close to our own families also.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!
